Daniel Perez (he/him/his) is a Live Entertainment industry leader experienced in the strategic planning, creative development, and management of complex and high-profile shows, events, and attractions. He was the Vice President of Entertainment Creative at Universal Studios Japan, where he leads a team of directors, designers, choreographers, producers, and writers in the development of new live entertainment shows and attractions. Since joining the Universal Studios team in 2016, he has directed the creative development of live entertainment projects that have brought to life iconic brands such as Curious George, Despicable Me, Sing, Nintendo, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic World, and more. He has been featured as a speaker for IAAPA Expo Asia and TransWorld Halloween Attraction conferences. Before working for Universal, Daniel was a project manager, technical designer, and entertainment engineer for Hudson Scenic Studios, McLaren Engineering Group, and other scenic fabrication companies. As a writer, his short play [App]arition was produced by Microtheater Miami and Navigators Theater (Long Island City, NY). He is the recipient of the MIT Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts and the USITT Golden Hammer Scenic Technology Award. Daniel earned a B.S. from MIT in Civil Engineering and Theater Arts and a M.F.A. from Yale School of Drama in Technical Design and Production. He currently resides in Orlando, FL and is originally from Miami, FL.
